Scope
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a layered authentication method that requires two or more verification factors for a user to gain access to an application, online account, or a VPN.
This document outlines the available MFA authentication methods and the setup process required for myNuspire access.
Setup Instructions
In your favorite browser, enter the myNuspire URL (https://app.mynuspire.io/).
Enter your Username
Click Next.
Enter your Password.
Click the Sign In button.
Select an MFA Option
Select your preferred MFA option and follow the guided prompts to complete the MFA setup.
Okta Verify
Okta Verify is an easy-to-use, application-based MFA method that provides a (one-click) challenge/response during login to confirm identity.
In your browser, select Okta Verify as your MFA authentication method.
Select your mobile device type.
On your mobile device, go to the App Store or Google Play Store.
Download/install the Okta Verify app.
Upon completing the download/install, open the Okta Verify app.
Return to myNuspire in your browser and click Next.
Keep the QR Code window open in your browser.
Return to Okta Verify on your mobile device.
Select Add (+) an Account.
Choose the type of account to be added.
Select Scan a QR Code or Yes, Ready to Scan.
Scan the QR Code in your browser with Okta Verify on your mobile device.
The Okta Verify MFA set-up is now complete.
myNuspire Sign In
Signing in to my Nuspire now requires an additional identity verification step.
Upon sign-in to myNuspire, select the Send Push button in the browser window.
On your mobile device, the Okta Verify app challenges you to verify your identity by selecting “Yes, It’s Me” or “No, It’s Not Me.”
Select Yes, It’s Me.
myNuspire is now accessible in your browser.
Google Authenticator
Google Authenticator is a token-based authentication method that requires a Google Authenticator token to be entered during login to confirm identity.
In your browser, select Google Authenticator as your MFA authentication method.
Select your mobile device type.
On your mobile device, go to the App Store or Google Play Store.
Download/install the Google Authenticator app.
Upon completing the download/install, open the Google Authenticator app.
Return to myNuspire in your browser and click Next.
Keep the QR Code window open in your browser.
Return to Google Authenticator on your mobile device.
Select Scan a QR Code or Add (+) an Account.
Choose the type of account to be added (if applicable).
Select Scan QR Code.
Scan the QR Code in your browser with Google Authenticator on your mobile device.
In your browser, click Next.
Enter the code displayed in the Google Authenticator app in the provided browser field when prompted.
Click Verify.
The Google Authenticator MFA set-up is now complete.
myNuspire Sign In
Signing in to my Nuspire now requires an additional identity verification step.
Upon sign-in to myNuspire, you will now be prompted to enter a Google Authenticator code.
Access the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device for a code.
Enter the code in the field and click Verify.
myNuspire is now accessible in your browser.
SMS Authentication
SMS is a token-based authentication method that requires a token provided by SMS be entered during login to confirm identity.
In your browser, select SMS Authentication as your MFA authentication method.
Upon request, enter your mobile phone number.
Your mobile number is saved and automatically populates upon your next myNuspire sign-in.
Click Send code.
Enter the 6-digit code texted to your phone in the provided code field in your browser.
Click Verify.
The SMS Authentication MFA set-up is now complete.
myNuspire Sign In
Signing in to my Nuspire now requires an additional identity verification step.
Upon sign-in to myNuspire, you will now be prompted with an SMS Authentication request.
Click Send code.
Enter the code sent by SMS to your mobile phone.
Click Verify.
myNuspire is now accessible in your browser.
